5 Reasons to Vote for ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1’ in the MTV Movie Awards (Photos)

As you know, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was nominated in two categories for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards: “Best Kiss” and “Movie of the Year.”

It’s probably not difficult to convince Twilight fans to vote for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to score the “#Twilight4Peat” for “Best Kiss” because, well, everyone wants to see what they’ll do next on-stage after the past three years. However, with heavy-hitters like Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, The Hunger Games, Bridesmaids, and The Help also nominated for “Movie of the Year,” that category might be a harder sell.

So, here I give you five big reasons to choose Breaking Dawn – Part 1 as your movie of the year.

Romance: Of all the four Twilight Saga films to-date, Breaking Dawn – Part 1 definitely contained the most romance. While Twilight had a kiss or two, New Moon had a couple, and Eclipse definitely took it a step further with the proposal and, ahem, “leg hitch” scene, there were still more kisses, sweet exchanges, and finally some you know what in this installment.

Danger: One recurring theme in each Twilight Saga installment so far has been “Bella” being in danger while the “Cullens” try to protect her from it. In Twilight, it was “James” tracking her down, and in New Moon, “Laurent” and the “Volturi” came into the fold as major threats. With Eclipse, “Victoria” cooked up an entire newborn army to exact her revenge, but in Breaking Dawn – Part 1, the danger didn’t come from another vampire – well, not exactly. Instead, her own love affair with “Edward” produced a danger within her, the human-vampire hybrid baby which threatened to destroy her from the inside out. Yes, it’s as weird as it sounds, so you gotta give Breaking Dawn – Part 1 props for going there with the strange fabric of the book’s story and bringing it to life on-screen. It’s what fans wanted!

Prove ‘Em Wrong: Robert Pattinson said recently that the Twilight fervor is “dying down” and becoming replaced by The Hunger Games. If you think that’s an incorrect statement, well, there’s only one way to prove him wrong!

Don’t Let Kristen Down: Kristen Stewart will be presenting at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, this we already know. We don’t want to let our gal go home empty-handed, now do we?

For Part 2’s Sake: If you were disappointed that Breaking Dawn – Part 1 only received two nominations and hope that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will stand a chance at scoring more for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, well, proving that the momentum is still in the Twilight fans’ corner will probably be instrumental in making that happen.

Agree with this list? Well, cast your vote for Breaking Dawn – Part 1 for “Best Kiss” here and for “Movie of the Year” here.
