Dubbed as“Country Music’s Biggest Night,” this year's CMA Awards will partner with cable's Great American Country network to broadcast the glitz 'n' glam of the night, including exclusive red carpet pre-show coverage that will be carried live nationally.
Per an Oct. 24 missive from the CMA's PR camp, CMA Awards Red Carpet Live will premiere at 7 p.m. (ET) Wednesday, Nov. 6, on the network. GAC's on-air personalities Suzanne Alexander, Nan Kelley and Storme Warren will be on hand to report the red carpet excitement, interview with country’s biggest stars about their nominations, performances, preshow rituals and favorite CMA Awards moments, in addition to highlighting the night’s fashions and more.
“With events like CMA Awards Red Carpet Live, we are able to give viewers unique access,” remarked Sarah Trahern, senior vice president and general manager of GAC. “This show takes the audience right into the action with all the stars. To provide the exclusive CMA Awards preshow is a tremendous opportunity for the network to bring fans of music and pop culture something special and to expose them to the larger Great American Country brand.”
Moreover, as part of the fan engagement, GAC will unite viewers coast to coast with exclusive online coverage, commentary and dialogue via social media. Viewers can join the CMA Awards Red Carpet Live festivities on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the official event hashtag #CMARedCarpet.
“Partnering with Great American Country to bring viewers exclusive CMA Awards red carpet coverage is a win for CMA and for country music fans,” said Ed Hardy, president of the CMA Board of Directors. “As a promotional partner, Great American Country has assembled a schedule that really celebrates the format and provides unique access to our consumers.”
