22 killed in collision and 24 injured in UAE

At least 22 people were killed in a collision, according to a Feb. 4 Reuters via Yahoo News report. The accident happened when a gravel truck slammed into a bus with 46 Asian migrant workers inside.

The deadly crash happened near al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates. The gravel truck driver lost control, and the truck landed on top of the bus. The gravel and the truck trapped the bus's passengers. In addition to the 22 people who were killed, another 24 were injured. Five of those injured sustained critical injuries.

This deadly crash that killed 22 people adds to the already high numbers of collision fatalities in the UAE. In fact, UAE roads are among the most dangerous in the world. They have the highest death toll per capita. It is terrible that so many people lost their lives in this large crash between a gravel truck and a bus.

It has not been a good time for bus riders recently. Over the weekend, a bus carrying students hit an overpass in Boston.
