In 2015 Nissan Titan news today, a Cummins turbodiesel engine option was announced. The partnership with the engine designer will begin in the 2015 model year. According to United Press International on August 21, 2013, a key reason to buy a specific truck is the Cummins option.
Cummins has been providing their engines for Chrysler's Ram pickups since 1989. According to Autoweek, the Cummins name is a key reason why customers chose to buy the truck.
The 2015 Nissan Titan will be even more heavy-duty and have the added capability to haul large loads thanks to the new engine option. Towing ability is another feature that customers will have. Competitor Chrysler already uses the Cummins engine. They had no comment when asked about this development for Nissan. Currently their Ram truck uses a 6.7-liter, inline-six engine. The Nissan will offer a 5.0-liter V8 instead.
The 2015 Nissan Titan will be the latest edition of the truck, which was first released in 2004. It is a full-sized pickup and is also produced in Canton, Mississippi. Texans account for 25 percent of the vehicle's sales. It is intended to compete with Chrysler, Ford, and Chevy's trucks.
