In news released from the Pentagon this morning, it was learned that two more U.S. warfighters were killed battling the War on Terror.
Both Soldiers died August 23, 2013, in Haft Asiab, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device during combat operations.
Killed in the fight were, Spc. Kenneth Clifford Alvarez, 23, of Santa Maria, Calif., and Pvt. Jonathon Michael Dean Hostetter, 20, of Humphreys, Mo.
They were assigned to 2nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico.
The deaths of these Soldiers bring to 2,130, the number of U.S. troops who have died supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
There was no information regarding other Soldiers who might have been injured in the attack.
