14-year-old dog at animal control in need of a new home

An adorable, 14-year-old Chihuahua named "Max," is doing his best to make himself comfortable inside of an animal control kennel at a busy, high-intake facility in southern California.

The elderly dog found himself without a home and family on August 19 - the day that he was taken in at the Los Angeles County Animal Control, Carson shelter, in Gardena, California. The Facebook page, Saving Carson Shelter Pets, posted Max to their page days ago and there, his intake date is shown as the same date that he was available for adoption - an indication that his prior owner surrendered ownership.

Max is in need of a new home and guardian - or a rescue agency which is able to take him under their wing. Individuals who live in the Los Angeles area, who are able to foster Max, are asked to send an email to carsonfosters@gmail.com to see what steps are needed to help this senior dog.

Please take a moment to network Max's information:

  • MAX - ID number A1690100
