DC actor produces science-fiction film

DC actor Mark Kilbane is a renaissance man.  In addition to starring in local films like “Leaving Hollywood,” Kilbane has added screenwriting and now producing to his list of credits.

Kilbane is producing a science-fiction\martial arts flick called “The Man Who Never Missed,” which is based on New York Times bestselling author Steve Perry’s book.

The story, set 420 years in the future, “is about one guy taking on a whole empire [the Confed],” said Kilbane.  The film will tell the story of ex-soldier Emile Antoon Khadaji who realizes early on that “the army he is working for is bad, so he deserts [and fights against it],” said Kilbane.  Learn more about the characters at "The Man Who Never Missed" interactive site.

“I decided to go all the way with this,” Kilbane said of the decision to make a film out of the book.  “Just do it.”

Kilbane, a former Army Captain and Coverage Inc., screenwriting competition semi-finalist, describes his head-long jump into filmmaking as going from “zero to 60.”

Kilbane has been busy publicizing his efforts, recently holding a press conference at the Capclave science fiction convention in Rockville, MD, and preparing for a trip to the American Film Market in Santa Monica, California next week.

Selling the film and raising funds will come down to fan support, Kilbane said.  “We want to get 10,000 fans,” Kilbane said of the Facebook Fan Page dedicated to the upcoming film.

“Step Up 2: The Streets” director Jon Chu is in Kilbane’s sights to join the project.  He also hopes to hire Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler to play Bork, a muscle-man.

  • Finally! This book is a hard-hitting story with a non-lethal philosophy masterminded from the main character. Been a huge fan of this book and the entire 'Matador' series.

few people, much less other die hard matador fans can understand how excited I am about this.
