New Line Cinema in associations with Warner Bros. Pictures are currently filming "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" in the Wellington, New Zealand area through late March, 2012. The casting directors are holding an open casting call for folks who live within reasonable driving distance of Wellington and would like to appear in the film as paid background performers. Shooting will take place at Stone Street Studios and various locations around Wellington.
Starring in "The Hobbit" are some amazing actors. English film, television, and theatre actor Benedict Cumberbatch plays Smaug; One of the most beautiful and talented actresses in the world, Golden Globe nominated Evangeline Lilly plays Tauriel; Martin Freeman plays the lead role of Bilbo Baggins; Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins. Other huge stars include Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, and Orlando Bloom.
"The Hobbit: There and Back Again" is the second film in a two part epic fantasy prequel to "The Lord of the Rings" film trilogy. The title of the first part is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and shooting has taken place back-to-back on both films starting back in March 21, 2011. In July 2011, production moved to Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England and then returned to New Zealand in August, 2011. (continued below)
