Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will make a campaign stop in San Francisco today to seek support from women and young people. The senator is shown campaigning in Las Vegas on Thursday.
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama will make a campaign stop in San Francisco today to seek support from women and young people. The senator is shown campaigning in Las Vegas on Thursday.
The event, sponsored by Generation Obama and Women for Obama, begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
In addition to the high-profile support of Oprah Winfrey, the Illinois senator has received local endorsement from San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris.
Obama's principal Democratic rival for the presidency, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., was in San Francisco on Aug. 10 to receive the endorsement of Mayor Gavin Newsom.

She also has been endorsed by U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
California's primary election takes place Feb. 5.
