A charter amendment from Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin is designed to improve Muni service and require the Municipal Transportation Agency to reduce carbon emissions.
The board’s Rules Committee will hold further discussions Tuesday, when the committee is expected to send it to the full board for a likely vote July 17. At least six board votes are needed to make it onto the November ballot.
The amendment would increase MTA’s autonomy, such as granting sole power to set the dollar amount of parking fines, and funnel an additional 40 percent — for a total of 80 percent — of The City’s parking revenues to MTA.
Under the proposal, The City would hand an additional $26 million to Muni next fiscal year.

it's not that hard if you take some time to study the issues....it's your city and your elected leaders, if you don't hold them accountable, then you have no one to blame but yourself when things go bad. San Francisco's citizens always fail to do anything but complain!

MUNI needs MONEY? Isn't MUNI going to build an entire new SUB-(terraneum)WAY under CHINATOWN? That's gonna cost a lot more than TWENTY SIX MILLION, but hey, maybe it will be as effective as the new T-THIRD line turned out to be. Does anyone but a real policy wonk even understand what this story is a about? I doubt it. I'm considering spending maybe $26- on apair of shoes and just WALIKING!
