Orphanage rep denies Brangelina adoption rumors

SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - Could the Jolie-Pitt family be welcoming a new member? A report on Us Weekly’s Web site claims that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have started the process of adopting a boy from Vietnam to join son Maddox, 5, born in Cambodia; and daughters Zahara, 2, originally from Ethiopia, and Shiloh, 9 months.

A source in Vietnam told the magazine’s Web site that the pair has applied to adopt a child from Ho Chi Minh City’s Tam Binh orphanage. They toured the establishment in November.

But a rep for the orphanage told Star’s Web site the rumor is false: “Brad and Angelina have not been back to our orphanage since their visit in November. I’d only wish that they were adopting from us! There are many orphanages in Vietnam that they could adopt from, but it certainly is not us.”

We wish this one had panned out — nothing brings joy to the world like a Brangelina baby!

How’s Britney Doing?

So far, so good.

At press time, Britney Spears is still in treatment at Malibu’s Promises, where she returned Thursday after initially skipping out in less than 24 hours. Britney’s family is rallying around her. Dad Jamie Spears told Fox News, “We’ve got a sick little girl — we’re just trying to take care of her.”

And she’s getting support from her estranged husband, Kevin Federline, who visited Britney in rehab Friday and then brought their two sons to see her Saturday, reports People.

Photos of a furious Britney losing her cool at the FedEx’s house before she re-entered Promises had surfaced on the Internet. The pop star reportedly got no answer when she rang the doorbell — and ended up in an argument with photographers.

But now it seems the couple has made peace of sorts. “The kids are [Kevin’s] No. 1 priority and they always have been,” a source told the magazine’s Web site. “He’s so stressed out right now. He only wants the best for Britney and the kids.”

It looks like Britney is finally committed to sticking with the Promises program and to getting herself some healing.

New Daniel Details

A shocking police report contains new details about Howard K. Stern’s behavior after the mysterious death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel in September. According to People, a witness told Bahamas police that Howard, the former lawyer for Anna Nicole who then became her lover, flushed pills down the toilet.

In the police report, quoted on the magazine’s Web site, the son-in-law of another Anna ex, who claims to have been on the scene the day Daniel died, says Howard went through Daniel’s pockets and found two white pills.

Howard “went immediately to the bathroom,” the witness says; “seconds after, I heard the toilet flush.”

Howard reportedly then said “that he had taken care of a problem.”

Daniel was 20 at the time of his death; drugs including methadone were found in his system.

People reports that Howard’s attorney Ron Rale responded to the allegations, “We deny everything. It’s ridiculous.”

Where Will Anna Rest?

Despite a judge’s decree that Anna Nicole Smith’s body would be given to the guardian of her daughter Dannielynn, to be buried near son Daniel in the Bahamas, her remains are still not going anywhere yet. Anna’s mother, Virgie Arthur, has appealed the decision, still hoping to bury her daughter in her home state of Texas.

Meanwhile, the late star’s former boyfriends Stern and Larry Birkhead, despite disputing Dannielynn’s paternity, share a desire to see Anna rest in peace.

Says Howard’s lawyer, “Howard is sad and tired, He wants to go and grieve, and I think Mr. Birkhead and Mr. Stern are ready to do this.”

Let’s hope this increasingly macabre saga is resolved soon.
