Two masked Glen Burnie men were arrested after one of them pulled a 7-inch knife on police officers while trespassing on the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail, Anne Arundel police said Monday.

Martavious Bernard Rodgers, 20, of the 200 block of Crain Court Circle, and Ladell Roman Thomas, 19, of the same address, were charged with first- and second-degree assault among lesser charges, police said.

Northern District officers were patrolling the trail after dark in the Harundale area of Glen Burnie when they came across the suspects wearing all black clothing and ski masks covering their faces, police said.

Rodgers pulled the folding knife on the officers, police said, but dropped it after numerous warnings.

Annapolis man attacked after hit and run

A 52-year-old Annapolis man was assaulted Sunday after he struck two parked cars with his Lincoln Navigator and tried to flee the scene, Annapolis police said.

The Timber Creek Drive resident, whose name was not released, was found lying on the ground in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Avenue about 9:15 p.m., police said.

He told officers that after he struck two vehicles and tried to drive away, two male suspects chased him to the parking lot of the Eastport Shopping Center. He stopped his Navigator — which was badly damaged, having lost a wheel — and told the angry suspects that he would pay for the damages if it was the accident that they were upset about, police said.

The suspects attacked the man, striking him repeatedly before running away, police said.

The man was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was in stable condition Monday, police said.

Police could not find the suspects and are continuing to investigate.
