STAR OF THE DAY
The rookie wide receiver made several quality catches, especially on a couple of throws from quarterback Kyle Boller. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder is trying to earn a spot as a third receiver and/or on special teams after being selected in the fourth round of the draft
PLAY OF THE DAY
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has a long background as a special teams coach and that showed on Friday.
During field goals drills, kicker Matt Stover faked an attempt and punter Sam Koch threw a touchdown pass to tight end. It wasn’t the prettiest pass, but it was effective.
YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN
Jonathan Ogden retired in June, but the future Hall of Fame left tackle made his presence felt during the first full-squad practice Friday morning. Ogden worked with a number of the younger offensive tackles, including Oniel Cousins and Jared Gaither. Gaither, at 6-foot-9, 330 pounds, is expected to take over for Ogden at left tackle this season.
QUARTERBACK BATTLE
Troy Smith started out working with the first team. He made some nice passes and scrambles at times, but also fumbled several times. Boller worked with both the first and second teams and was steady, making some decent throws to wideout Smith, tight end Adam Bergen and fullback Justin Green. Joe Flacco played like a rookie.

Autograph seekers: The Ravens make most of their players accessible for autographs after each practice, with fans asked to lineup next to the fences and ropes surrounding the field. Kids 14 years and younger can get prime spots behind the end zone closest to the field house. Players are more likely to sign autographs for kids who are polite and bring a pen.
