guns are not the issue here, judging from the title the issue is people not being able to take a verbal lashing like they SHOULD. guns are not the issues. instead of banning guns, allow citizens to posses them legally concealed. its a proven statistic that counties with LEGAL CONCEALED WEAPONS have less crime. just because you ban guns doesnt mean your fixing the problem. criminals dont obey the law as it is, why would they listen to a ban on guns? by banning guns, your just making it illegal for law abiding citizens to have guns. criminals dont give two %$&*s about the law.

Illegal alien MS13 gang member erases a family in a sanctuary city with no fear of deportation or capital punishment. Liberal crybabies yammer on about guns being the problem because they cannot admit the atmosphere they have created allows gangs to flourish unchecked. These atrocities occur daily within black and Hispanic communities but instead of cracking down on crime, liberals want "outreach" because they see these vermin as disenfranchised, disaffected, at-risk, and distressed. These are just a few euphemisms used to describe black and Hispanic areas, not just in SF but all over the US. Gun ownership among law abiding people has never been the problem and no amount of gun laws would have stopped or mitigated filth like Ramos from rubbing people out for no reason whatsoever. SF will never have a pro-gun mentality as the people believe in appeasement of thugs and victim disarmament, all in hopes that somehow, someday they will change their ways.

Furthermore, if you think this is the wild west then you better be on your best behavior. If you think you can just disrespect people and give them "dirty looks", then you can expect to get into violent situations. This means don't go into "bad" neighborhoods, and leave the situation if it is too risky. If you are not part of the violence then get away from it.

I am the one saying that and I have been a target before. If you think I believe that this incident is justified then you are wrong. You can not eradicate gangs. It is not possible. Nor can you stop drugs. The country can do any kind of gun control that they want to, but the fact is that people are killed with illegal guns. Not registered ones. And the gangs are not the ones bringing these guns into the country. They are in gangs because society and people like you alienate them.

I can't believe some of these comments that blame the victims. My son knew Michael, and he was a good kid. Maybe it's too scary to face the fact that thugs are running around with guns, unchecked, and can kill anyone they want at the drop of a hat, and have a statistical chance of getting away with it more in SF than anywhere else. Those who comfort themselves by saying that the victims must have provoked the shooting, are just denying that they could just as easily have been the targets. That means all of us, folks. The thing about it is that the news doesn't tell the complete story. Also, the family always tries to paint a picture that the "victim" wouldn't hurt a fly and that they were the nicest person you would ever meet. But in reality their child is a killer and that they knew that they were in trouble. In this case the killer was completely wrong. But, if you want to avoid violence you shouldn't provoke someone, especially if you have 2 kids in the car.

They always say that "the person was killed for no reason", this might be true in this case. The problem is that there is a reason for 99% of the murders. Either that person killed someone or they snitched or did something that they knew would get them killed. The news twists it around and acts like "innocent" people are getting killed, this is not true most of the time. If you do something you know can get you killed you are not innocent. Don't be fooled.

There are no words to express my outrage over this senseless act. These could have been ANY of our family members in the victims' vehicle. So what will it take for the residents of this city of ours to actually DO something about all this violence? Do we need to bring back the Guardian Angels or do we need to resort to engaging a "Mafia-like" element to help protect us from these gun-toting criminals? God knows the entities in power in this once great city of ours are powerless to help us or don't possess the desire to do so or these things would not happen with such regularity. Serious pressure MUST be put on our Mayor, Chief of Police, District Attorney and the Board of Supervisors to do everything within their power to protect us by increasing our police force to actually deter crime. Additionally, more effort needs to be exerted in finding these miserable excuses for human beings who are going around killing innocent people and bring them to justice. The time is now!!!!!

Hand picked by the person YOU voted for. As far as the dismal police record in reducing violent crime, I totally agree - it sucks. But then again, YOU have the most "censored" police dept. in the country with more oversight than any other city with the exception of Seattle or Cincinnati. Instituted by YOU - the voters, backed by the Stupidviosrs who YOU elect. News Flash: Marin is the most wacky liberal place in the U.S. but guess what, their voters our tough on crime measures. Wake up SF

I just discoverd that this is a friend of our family. I am devastated that this could happen to such a wonderful family. This was a father and his sons that this happend to. I won't mentioned any names, but this father from the Excelsior neighborhood grow up in this neighborhood and he was one of the last surviving Italian families from this neighborhood who was married to a latin women. The father was a great dad to his sons and such an easy going person. Always so pleasant and happy and very proud of his sons. This is sad that this has to happen to such a wonderful family. God Bless!

Money. The answer is: "money." Offer rewards for the arrest of criminals. See how long their "friends" will shelter murderers. Most of the scum out there doing drive-by and gang killings have friends who know perfectly well who the doer is, so make it more attractive to be a snitch. And to be even more effective make it a sliding rate depending on the time of the killing and the time of the snitching. $10K if snitch is same day, $7,500 for snitching within 48 hours, $5K if within a week, and $1K if withing 2 weeks. The earlier someone snitches, the more likely police can collect evidence such as GSR, weapons and witnesses. As time goes by it's much more difficult to get evidence for an arrest and conviction. Give bonuses to snitches who can provide hard evidence such as murder weapons. These skells aren't too bright, but they're smart enough to figure out how to be paid as a snitch. You'll have a line around the block of bangers wanting to turn their BFF.

SFPD may have a problem with uncooperative witnesses, but what is the excuse for some of their recent witless behavior? I'm talking about the dead man in the impounded van and the French man's "suicide" that required France to send its own inspectors. My friend's party was shot at with a shotgun -- and two of his guests were hit -- and SFPD's attitude was more or less "what do you want us to do?"

SF has a lower homicide rate than Oaktown or Richmond... like that's something to be proud of.

Lots of black victims but what is always overlooked in our local media is what the murderers looked like. This is a nationwide epidemic where black males have no conscience whatsoever and just want to murder, rape, rob, assault, etc with almost no accountability. Obama says he wants to have a dialogue on race; okay fine. The problem is that we've known some inconvenient truths that no one wants to talk openly about, and the main topic should be black crime. Tired accusations of racism and disenfranchisement have lost their horsepower. Prisons are full of blacks yet the streets are full of black criminals. Look at any other city in the US and it's the same thing. Al and Jesse are always silent when atrocities like those in Tinley Park, IL, Kirkwood, MO and Knoxville TN occur (just to name a meager three out of hundreds) yet can't whoop and holler enough when a radio DJ makes a dopey, insensitive comment. Blacks need to seriously clean house, cut their losses and start over.

I would really love to care, but I can't. I think I lost my ability to perceive teenager gangbanger/drugthug murders as relevant about 1000 murders ago. Like the rest of the his (or her, I can't remember)peers, he will be forgotten within a week, or 5 new murders, whichever comes first. If he was eaten by a Tiger, he would be remembered - not so if he is murdered by a human. Bizarre.

No one on the commission is a bigger idiot than Campos. All that tard talks about is Latinos, gays and medical marijuana. Zero clue about crime and its causes, just liberal blah blah about guns and heavy handed cops.
