An Owings Mills teenager is charged with committing a home invasion and sexual assault of a 62-year-old woman in Baltimore County.

Police have arrested Loren Denver White, 17, saying he is responsible for Wednesday’s home invasion in Owings Mills at about noon in which he allegedly approached the victim as she was getting groceries out of her car and entered her house on the unit block of Preakness Court.

White forced the woman at gunpoint into her home, where he attempted to rape her while she fought him, police said.

White, unsuccessful with his rape attempt, took cash from the victim and her car, according to police.

Investigators caught up with White as they responded to an unrelated burglary in Owings Mills on the unit block of Ritters Lane at 3:44 p.m.

When officers arrived, the suspects fled a short distance, and after a brief foot chase, all were arrested, police said.

The victim’s car, a 2003 white Honda Civic, was found in the garage of the vacant house on Ritters Lane.

Police interviewed the suspects, who said White picked up the other two males who went with him to the house. They did not participate or have knowledge of the home invasion, police said.

White is charged as an adult with attempted rape, sex offense, armed robbery, assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft.

He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
