BALTIMORE (Map, News) - The National Aquarium received a $464,381 grant for its math, science and environmental education program this week.
The Toyota USA Foundation’s award will support the AquaPartners program, which provides instruction for kindergartners through 12th-graders in Baltimore City public schools.
The grant marked the largest award in the aquarium’s 26 years of providing the on-site program.
“Programs like AquaPartners are vital in raising students’ interest in environmental education while fostering the next generation of conservation leaders,” said diver Kevin Butt, who presented the award and serves as chief environmental officer of Toyota’s North American manufacturing operations.
Aquarium officials also announced the 11 Baltimore City schools that will participate in the program: Cecil Elementary, Fort Worthington Elementary, Holabird Elementary, John Ruhrah Elementary, Johnston Square Elementary, Medfield Heights Elementary, Mount Washington Elementary, Sinclair Lane Elementary and Thomas Jefferson Elementary schools; and Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle and Lakeland Elementary/Middle schools.

Housing rents are already tanking the DC metro market too much for so litte and no quality of life for anyone. But as long as you have the H1B visa's flooding fannie and Freddie jobs you will have higher prices. To those, folks, a 1970's trash can of an apartment filled with roaches and mice,as squeaky floors and with a front door is luxury and they will pay the piper. Tyson's and Vienna are pumped as location. Location to what? a crowded road?
