Development on San Bruno Mountain could help, as well as hurt, environmental goals for the 1,300-foot peak.
Leave smokers a few places to smoke
The article about the “City aiming to cut smokers’ havens” (The Examiner, July 16) really ticked me off. I mean, really.
Cracks slow Caltrain commute
Caltrain riders were hit with a one-two punch at the height of the morning commute Wednesday after unrelated mechanical problems in both directions caused delays of up to an hour.
City officials did everything by the book
The Examiner’s editorial (“Felon sanctuary misguided,” July 8), accused city officials of turning a “blind eye” by protecting immigrant minors from federal deportation. Contrary to the recent news reports, there was never a covert effort to abuse San Francisco’s sanctuary ordinance or circumvent federal immigration law. Bay Area drivers, already battling record transportation costs, may soon have to pay more to park at San Francisco International Airport.
BART is approaching its SFO goal
At its fifth anniversary, the BART extension through the Peninsula to San Francisco International Airport rates kind words for a healthy gain in ridership. Average weekday passengers to SFO topped 10,000 for the first time since the airport station opened in June 2003 — a 65 percent increase from the station’s first full month of operation.
