
Identical, by Ellen Hopkins, one of the top 25 books of the year
Teens have been voting for over a month on 2008's most popular young adult book. The top 10 will be announced during Teen Read Week, from October 18-24 in a webcast featuring Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment.
Twenty-five books have been chosen for voting.
Here are ten of those books.

2. Untamed, by Kristen and P.C. Cast, depicts one of the many popular vampire book, released in 2008. The setting takes place at a school for young vampires. Nobody will listen to Zoey as she discovers the truth about a leader in the school. Loyalties, truths, and evil are a big part of this fourth House of Night novel.
3. Cassandra Clare's, City of Ashes is a nominee. The second book of a very popular trilogy. This book finds Clary and her best friend, Simon trying to find their place in a magical world parallel to their NYC home. This dark book of demon fighting, vampires, werewolves, warlocks, and fairies allow Clary to unravel secrets about her past.
4. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, places young Katniss Everdeen in a game called The Hunger Games. This game is a televised competition that literally kills the weakest. The strongest teen is left alive and is allotted food and gifts by the government.
5. Truancy for Teens, by Isamu Fukui, finds Tack living in a totalitarian society. A rebel group, called the Truancy is fighting for freedom and Tack wants revenge against them after someone he loves is killed.
6. Truancy: Origins, also written by Isamu Fukui, finds two young adults named Usamsi and Zen. The two are adopted by a very affluent family. The two discover their father is behind the restrictive policies of the country. One of the brothers rebels.
7. The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman, finds a toddler in a graveyard after he wandered away from home. Right after he found his way into the cemetery, his entire family is slaughtered. Nobody Owens is raised by ghosts. They teach him the skills he needs to survive.
8. Paper Towns by John Green, is a missing person book. Margo Roth Spiegelman and Q were best friends growing up. A month before high school graduation, Margo disappears after taking Q out for a night of pranks.
9. Runemarks, by Joanne Harris, is a book of gods and fantasy. Maddy is shunned because of a Rune mark on her hand. This same mark propels her into a war between the controlling religious government and Norse gods.
10. The popular prose writer, Ellen Hopkins, is a nominee, with the book Identical. Identical twin teens Raeanne and Kaeleigh are very different in how they respond to the abuse in their home. One of the twins turns to cutting and bulemia while the other turns to drugs and sex.
Fifteen more books have been voted upon. Tomorrow, the final 15 will be listed.

I love the Hunger Games and Catching Fire, I can not wait for book 3 and the movie. :D
