Margaret Huang is a yoga teacher and owner of Well Yoga in San Francisco, CA. She was first exposed to yoga in 1997 while she worked as a public relations executive in Santa Monica. Like most yoga teachers, she did not enjoy her first yoga class, but a few years later, in 1999; she moved to San Francisco and tried a yoga class at her local gym. At this point, she began to enjoy yoga and found it to be a good way to manage her stress from her high tech PR job.
She soon discovered that she had a passion for yoga. In November of 2008, she left her job to pursue her passion for yoga and became a certified yoga teacher in April 2009. She has no regrets for giving up her job because she has learned the value of her time and how important her peace of mind and health are. Margaret says that it was not easy to make the switch because she no longer had the security of her job or a paycheck every two weeks, but it is definitely worth it. She further states that if you are willing to invest the time and if you are willing to adjust your lifestyle, then being a yoga teacher is worth it and you find that your work is a reward in itself.
Margaret’s inspiration to start Well Yoga began by reading a book about the business of yoga during teacher training. She knew that she wanted to start small and keep things simple, so she began her studio from her own living room. She has turned her living room into an oasis away from the city, away from the hassle of parking, and it has a calm, peaceful, and beach-like environment. She primarily offers private yoga therapy style of classes using the YogAlign method. Stretching, improving flexibility, and strengthening of joints and muscles are all a part of her classes. Since her classes are private, the environment is also safe, comfortable, and warming for those who are new to yoga. Her classes are for all age ranges and conditions, and she works especially with busy professionals and athletes. Through the YogAlign method, she is also able to work with those who have sports injuries and aid in the prevention of future injuries. Margaret says Well Yoga is all about you.
