Yes, “going green” is definitely a rising trend in the health and fitness community. Many non-corporate gyms and yoga studios are making conscious efforts to swap out energy wasting lighting with more energy efficient options, as well as replacing flooring and wall surfaces with ecologically-minded, non-toxic products.
And why not? If their clientele are making conscious efforts to improve their health and wellbeing, the least an establishment can do is aid them in their quest.
As a health-minded community, we should applaud all of the businesses making these admirable efforts. And we should give Sol Yoga Studios in La Jolla a standing ovation! They’ve got it all going green!
Sol Yoga Studios is the epitome of a cutting edge green business. From the floors to the radiant heat ceiling panels, and all the air circulating within, the studio has taken every detail of “going green” to heart. In fact, all the studio air is HEPA filtered and treated with UV light to kill 99% of air-born impurities, so when you practice there, you’re not only surrounded by conscious good energy – it literally becomes part of you!
Classes at Sol Yoga are Ashtanga-inspired vinyasa style and practiced in a heated room. And this is not conventionally heated yoga; ceiling mounted heating panels produce a 95°F heat that feels as if you are practicing yoga outside on a sunny day. The authentic baregrass panels along the upper walls also add to that outdoor, natural feeling.
Because of the conscious effort in creating an eco-friendly and healthful practice space, Sol Yoga Studios allows each student to participate fully in practices that subtly open the senses to more healthful possibilities; not only on a personal level, but also as they relate to, and honor, the earth we practice on.
Sol Yoga is located at 8657 Villa La Jolla Drive Suite 121, La Jolla, CA 92037.
