Texas' newest yoga studio is opening its doors this week. Get Yogafied, a community-driven studio in Cross Roads, TX promises to offer bonafied growth through yoga and community.

The intimate studio is built upon the belief yogis should have more than just a studio home. To accomplish that, Get Yogafied offers something more than the minimum standard of mats, blocks and serene music - Get Yogafied offers an active yoga community.

"Besides asana practices, we'll be offering opportunities to deepen both ours, and our members' practices," says studio co-founder Shana Stein. "We are a community driven studio [and] what that means to us is we've made a commitment to our members to make Get Yogafied their studio," she says with dedication, adding that while Get Yogafied will provide outlets to connect with the yoga community inside the studio, the true intention is to connect students even more - "Their community at large," she says.

The studio, which stemmed from a friendship born on the mat between Stein and her partner Kimberly Ames, fills a need in the local community to go beyond the county line by providing opportunities to connect Get Yogafied yogis to the greater world around them - Something often discussed but seldom transformed into action.

"In addition to our regular class offerings, we'll be offering two donation based practices per week," Shana says. "The instructor for this class is a volunteer and the weekly classes will be listed under the schedule as 'Get Charitable'. Proceeds from these classes will go directly to charity organizations." Students wanting to get involved in the planning of Get Yogafied's "Get Charitable" projects, can meet at the studio every Sunday to discuss and plan charitable events.

While Stein and Ames have put a great deal of foundation into the community development programs of their studio, they intend to stay true to the pillar of every community - The soul within.

Get Yogafied believes in catering to "personal growth and development for students on all levels". Mentally, the studio will assist students in providing a forum for information exchange by offering a donation-based library of yoga books and related readings. The library will be provided free of charge to members looking to expand their knowledge base. Spiritually, the studio believes in finding balance among three key factors to allow a student continual growth.

"It's a combination of three things," Shana says. "Part variety of class offerings, part variety of instructors, and part individual student responsibility."

"We've seen that an open-mind and a lot of patience in waiting for results can go a long way in a yoga practice for people of all levels."

And when she says "all levels" she speaks to more than just movement on the mat. The new North Texas studio has unique opportunities for those students seeking a desire to grow but find themselves financially restricted. In addition to weekly, donation-only classes, the studio also offers financial aid to those who qualify.

Get Yogafied's Grand Opening will kick off in March 2010 at the studio's Cross Roads location. To stay tuned to Grand Opening dates or check out pre-opening specials, check out the studio's web page here.
