“Let loose the Kraken!”
Warner Bros. is remaking the classic early 80’s adventure fantasy film “Clash of the Titans”, and every gamer probably already knows what that means: it’s time for a new video game! After all, what warm-weather blockbuster release would be complete without a supporting video game on its hip?
The upcoming film is expected to arrive sometime in the Spring of next year and will be starring Sam Worthington as Perseus, Liam Neeson as Zeus, and Ralph Fiennes as Hades. While the film appears to be a remake in name of the 1981 original, according to details that have surfaced there are some major plot differences. In the new film, the main conflict apparently revolves around a cosmic battle between Zeus and Hades, where as in the original the conflict arose from a vengeful Thetis and her cursed son Calibos. In the remake, Perseus and a band of warriors will fight on the side of Zeus as they voyage into forbidden worlds to battle demons and beasts in pursuit of stopping Hades from taking over the role of supreme god of Olympus.
To augment the release of the film Namco Bandai Games America Inc. will be teaming up with Warner Bros. Interactive to bring the silver screen remake to the video gaming community. The Clash of the Titans game is being developed by Game Republic and will be offering gamers two modes to choose from. The first allows players to take on the role of Perseus as he battles the minions of Hades and partakes in an adaptation of the new film that will lead them through swamps, mountains, and even the depths of the underworld. The second mode will allow gamers the opportunity to confront a new assortment of bosses using a reported wide range of weapons and powers. The game will apparently also support some type of multiplayer option, allowing gamers to team-up with friends and complete quests as they struggle against iconic mythological creatures like the infamous Medusa and powerful sea-monster, The Kraken.
Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations at Namco Bandai Games America commented on the game’s release by saying:
Bringing the re-imagined movie to life in an interactive adventure with Warner Bros. Interactive promises an unprecedented experience for video game and movie fans alike.

According to sources the film is set for release on March 26, 2010. The game is believed to be set for a coinciding release date, so gamers can expect to see it on store shelves roughly about the same time as the film's release. No word yet on whether or not the film’s actors will be lending their voice talents to the project. The game will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 when released.

i work in a 3d production company and we often are asked why not just convert 2d to 3d.
Well, clash of the titans is just one reason to say no, they made this film in the concept of a 2d film and then tried to convert it using technology that is not yet perfected, very similar to what they did in Alice in wonderland but more of a rush job this time around.
either way, you want 3d content, film it in 3d
