Being an associate with fellow Binge Gamer and gaming journalist James Walker, I sometimes get tips. Well, really, he gets the tips and I pass the savings on to you.
In his latest post entitled "Rumor: Forza Motorsport 4 in Development?", he reveals a little something we all should have assumed was coming:
In an email with the title “The most obvious news ever”, a source with intimate knowledge of the situation* has informed us that Microsoft and Turn 10 are actively hiring for the next installment of the wildly successful Forza Motorsport franchise. Considering Forza Motorsport 3 has sold over two million units since its release in October, news of another entry shouldn’t surprise anyone.
The source went on to say that while nothing is set in stone, people shouldn’t be surprised to hear some sort of “official” announcement in the next “several weeks.”
I must say I do not agree with the source thinking that an announcement of some kind will be coming anytime soon, as Forza 3 still has quite the bustling fan base. With Activision well known when it comes to milking franchises, I do not expect Microsoft Game Studios to publish Forza 4 in the near future. However, this does not exclude early start of development for the next in the series.
I think I can say one thing 100% sure, is that we all are praying that next in the series will not be Project Natal based only.
