Nielsen Ratings show Xbox 360 has the most active users in 2009

According to the newest report by the Nielsen Company, Xbox 360 has the most active users in 2009, while the Nintendo Wii has the fewest!

What “active users” translates into is the amount of console owners who regularly turn on their system to play. For example, this report shows that a vast majority of Nintendo Wii owners rarely turn on their system to play games, where the Xbox 360 owners are regularly on their console.

Coming in second is the Playstation 3, but in a twist of irony, the original Xbox beat the PS3 during the month of January. I’m sure we can tally that up to Halo 2, but still, things are looking good for Microsoft in terms of customer usage.

While this certainly doesn’t answer any debate about which system is better, nor is it based off of sales figures at all, it does shed light onto what console gamers spend the majority of their time, which does count for something. The question now is: does the Nielsen Company realize what a massive fuel this is to the internet war? I don’t think so…

Haha, even the Gamecube is being used more than the Wii! Poor little Wii, why doesn't anyone give you a chance?

Also I'm very surprised to see the Xbox actually beating the PS3. Really quite amazing how many people still play the regular old Xbox compared to it's newer version.
