Xavier and head coach Chris Mack received great news today as 2010 recruit Jordan Latham, a center out of Baltimore, announced he is sticking with the Musketeers. After former coach Sean Miller left for Arizona, Jordan re-opened his recruitment and to make sure Xavier was still the right fit for him. After looking at such schools as Maryland, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Jordan decided that Xavier was the school for him.
Xavier now awaits a decision by JD Weatherspoon, a 2010 recruit out of Columbus, who also re-opened recruitment after Miller left. It is believed that Ohio State or Xavier are the likely destinations for Weatherspoon, but Maryland is drawing interest as well.
This is the first recruit to commit to Xavier since the coaching change. It would be huge for Mack and his coaching staff if they can also keep Weatherspoon in the mix as it would mean Xavier's 2010 recruitment class remains intact and Mack can concentrate on 2011 and beyond.
