The use of resilient flooring in commercial applications has steadily increased. Perhaps the only "green" quality of any PVC-containing product is that it uses only a printed layer to duplicate a natural product.  Other positive traits are generally lower maintenance and initial cost. One product, produced by IVC, appears to combine performance and comfort with a commercial rating not before seen.

Earthscapes Platinum and Titanium series floors are the thickest "glass back" resilient products available and consist of an engineered fiberglass interlayer that combines strength and flexibility. This construction offers extraordinary dimensional stability in that the interlayer will not shrink or stretch, a common problem early in the introduction of loose-lay resilient flooring. In addition, Earthscapes Titanium offers antimicrobial protection and a thick foam layer that provides unparalled comfort underfoot. It also comes with a 25 year warranty and a 5-year commercial rating.
