It’s November, and according to The Weather Channel, one of the top months to have a beach wedding in Florida. Claiming to be the typically driest month in the Tampa area, you won’t have to worry about rain or a backup plan! Since this celebration will be outdoors, it is important to communicate with your guests about what to expect, especially if yours is a destination wedding for them. Here are a few tips on what to do…
1) Email, mail, or post on your website weather updates when it gets close to the date. The last thing you want is people expecting a sunny, warm weekend, and a sudden cold front comes through. Communicate the weather, so they know what to expect. You can even put your own spin on it. For example: Temperature says 82 degrees and sunny, but it feels more like 95 in the sun. Prepare to be hot!
2) Tell them what to wear. You know how you are when you go to weddings. One of the first questions you ask yourself is, “What should I wear?” Tell guests ahead of time what to and what not to wear. Channel your inner Stacy and Clinton to give advice. You would hate for Aunt Joan to show up in a red chiffon full-length gown with rhinestones during a 1 o’clock beach wedding in November.
3) Pamper their feet. If your wedding is in the sand, guests need to know to come prepared with flip-flops, or to go barefoot. Better yet, provide a “foot spa” for them. You can choose an area to set up where your guests can rinse and dry their feet and provide a basket of colorful flip-flops in varying sizes as favors.
4) Give them air. Provide a basket of hand held or mini-electronic fans to keep guests cool during the ceremony.
Go the extra mile for your guests, and they will appreciate it! With gorgeous weather, a stunning beach, and a beautiful ceremony, your loved ones will be sure to remember and praise your wedding for years to come!
