This is a follow up to the Sisters Donating styles for prom article from last week. The event was a success it was even extended to the day before the prom which is today. During the  Kick Off of the event “No More Stress This Is your Dress” on Saturday May 19, STBA donated beautiful gowns, shoes and accessories to many young ladies that came in underdressed to get dressed up in some gorgeous gowns all for free. And they were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful selections. The multi-purpose room at Friendly High School was open to early to the ladies by one of the school prom coordinators who made announcement of the event to the school days before.

Helping hands-STBA

I  was on hand for the event to bring donations from Cheap & Chic boutique located in District Heights, MD, owner of the boutique Shamika Shelton-Cook was gracious enough to donate a beautiful floor length  chocolate colored gown and many wonderful accessories to the STBA’s event. I was able to make a generous donation myself.

The organization held a raffle and it was won by a young lady who decided to share it with her friends who were there to try on dresses as well. The prom night kit included make-up, lashes, lip gloss, Heiress perfume by Paris Hilton, and a camera to catch the wonderful moments of the night to come. STBA is truly a great association of ladies giving back to the community in such a stylish way. Please check out their website for more events and information about the ladies and their assocaition.
