Spring is here and the climbing temperatures makes it evident that summer is just around the corner. I could not be more delighted. I love summer. It is my favorite season of the year, right before spring. There are good spring and summer foods, such as fruit-filled pies and fruits such as watermelon and cantaloupe. Then, there are foods that are not so good in the warm seasons. These, for me, include almost any piping hot soup.
But one meal is great all year round. Chili! Chili is great when it is hot outside and when it is cold outside. It is a meal that is great eaten at lunch or dinner. But don't call it a soup! Below, I have a good recipe for chili that is tasty and good for you. This recipe uses turkey instead of beef.
You'll need:
In a medium sized pot, cook turkey and chili over low heat until hot. Add onions, garlic powder, and cumin. Continue cooking 5 minutes. Pour into bowls and top with cheese. It will make about 4 servings. Eat with your favorite bread and you'll have a hearty, fulfilling meal any day of the year.
Enjoy!
