Who doesn't want to celebrate cheesecake? This weekend, Eli's will hold its 13th Annual Cheesecake Festival on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th. The event will benefit the New Horizon Center for the Developmentally Disabled as well as the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Fun events and things to see include the Jesse White Tumblers flying over a giant Eli’s Cheesecake; the Michigan Apple Queen; The Happiness Club performing their award-winning musical show; music for adults and kids; family stage entertainment; a classic car show (on Sunday) with over 100 cars; a Culinary Pavilion sponsored by the Michigan Apple Committee with leading local chefs cooking alongside celebrity chefs; kids’ activities including cheesecake Olympics with cheesecake eating contests, cheesecake bingo, and cheesecake hula hoop contests.
The festival celebrates the 13th anniversary of Eli’s Cheesecake World, the 62,000 square foot state-of-the-art bakery, café, retail store and visitors' center where Chicago's favorite dessert is made. Admission is free and open to the public. A portion of the proceeds from food and cheesecake sales will benefit the New Horizons Center, a school for the developmentally disabled located adjacent to the bakery. In addition, you may donate any non-perishable food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository to receive a free slice of Eli’s Cheesecake.
Come and join Eli's this Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and this Sunday, October 4, from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Eli’s Cheesecake World, at the corner of Montrose and Forest Preserve Drive in Chicago. Ample free parking is available.
