What makes the beach romantic?
It’s summertime and you’re planning your summer vacation at the beach. Ever stop to wonder what makes a beach setting so romantic?
Several Romantic Elements
There are many romantic elements connected to the beach. First of all, you’re on vacation. That reality lends itself to relaxation and fun. The daily cares and concerns are set aside for a week or two will you go off into a real life fantasy where there’s no work, no timetables, no phones to answer, no customers to please, no deadlines to meet.
Ahh…You can hear the pounding surf and smell the sultry ocean breeze just thinking about your vacation. What’s not romantic about all of that?
Tropical Settings Heighten Romance
The setting is viewed romantic mostly because it’s different and even exotic when compared to your home, apartment and office.
White sandy beaches await your bare feet. Tropical breezes entice you to linger over a drink and watch the sun set over the watery horizon. Calypso music stirs you from your meal to join other vacationers in a line dance. Or perhaps you and your lover just want to hold hands and take a moonlit stroll on the beach.
It’s All About the Senses
The allure of the beach engages all of your senses and maybe stirs memories of past vacations and romantic interludes. You’re exposed to the world in ways you aren’t during a typical workday and the world is exposed to you. The ocean breeze blows around you. Sand finds its way into your shoes and even your clothes. Salt air clings to your skin and the ever present roar of the surf, seagulls cawing, and warm breezes stirs over your, teasing your hair.
Suntan lotion prickles your nostrils and the day is a continuous change of extreme heat followed by cold air conditioning. The aromas of seafood become a daily smell and the constant undulating sea lulls you to sleep each night.
The real question is: What’s not romantic about the beach?
