Intrigue of a past era can capture our imaginations.
Objects, apparel, movies, books, furniture styles, room decors, and even cities can all be romantic. They can also be enjoyed by everyone. Having a romantic soul means you can live a life of romance in varied and creative ways, especially in the way you dress.

What makes clothing romantic? Texture, color, style all play an important role while the pattern is a wonderful way to either emphasize or minimize the effect. So what makes it seem romantic? Is it antiquity or is it something else?

A Victorian dress like the ones worn in the movie, Titanic, recreate a time when the pace of life was slower and more attention was placed on having a stylized quality of life. There were fewer modern conveniences. Most of the chores were done by individuals. Today we have machines to perform tasks that took our ancestors hours to complete. It's no wonder they cherished their free time. Understandably, they did so with great flourish and focus on fashion and style.

The clothing during the era, especially between 1910 - 1920, often brings the wearer a feeling of nostalgia and romance. Many original articles of clothing have been preserved and protected by collectors who trade or sell these pieces of the past. Reenactment clothing is offered in a wide range of period styles and vintage patterns can also be found.
