What's love got to do with it?
Can you have romance without love? Well, sure. The theme of first dates is typically romance, so absolutely. Romance is not confined to love, but when love blooms, romance elevates to a new level. It’s the difference between having a meal with or without wine. The overall experience is more rewarding.
The first intensity and sensuality of first love heightens all things so even taking out the garbage together can be romantic. And it’s those first few weeks of being madly in love that most couples want to encapsulate and keep growing in their relationship.
When the advancement of a love relationship develops into the most logical next step – marriage, it’s astounding how everything moves up yet another level. Life now becomes complicated because instead of each person living a separate life, they are meshing their lives into a very complex structure in shared day-to-day living.
Keeping the romantic spark glowing sometimes threatens to a flicker, so to make a solid marriage/relationship requires a lot of effort on the part of each person. Each must be dedicated to the marriage as though it were an entity unto itself.
If you view your relationship as a living plant, then you’ll want to nurture it. Give it the nutrients it needs to grow stronger and bloom more often. It’s the same thing when it comes to the romantic aspect of love. You have to take the time to nurture the romance in your relationship and when you do, you’ll see it growing stronger and more beautiful just like that plant.
