Although renovations are closing The Beatties Ford Road library today (Sunday, Nov. 22) through Dec. 1, 2009, families can take their older preschool children to another area library for a Thanksgiving event.

Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, the Scaleybark library will present Thanksgiving Tales for children ages 5-8. The event begins at 2 p.m. For more information, call Debra at 704-416-6400 or visit the website .

The Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

York County Library

Wednesday, Nov. 25, the Main Library in Rock Hill will be closed for repairs through Nov. 27, 2009.

Does your preschool child have overdue book fees? Teachers, do you have overdue materials fees? If so, you can get $1.00 credit for each personal hygiene item or nonperishable food item donated to any York County Library or bookmobile beginning Nov. 27-Dec. 1. Items needed include peanut butter, pasta, disposable diapers and more.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, all York County Libraries will close at 6 p.m. and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Gaston/Lincoln Regional Libraries

Gaston-Lincoln Regional Libraries will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 26 and Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. In addition, Lincoln County libraries will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009.
