Nightsong: a new vampire musical
Robert is a 300-year old vampire, who's been feeling a bit off lately. It doesn't help that Vivienne, his eternal lover, has grown increasingly cold over the years -- she views humans as little more than a source of sustenance, while Robert still finds them fascinating. However, a new conquest soon catches Robert's eye, Andrea, a naive human who's been widowed for nearly two years. Desperate to be closer to her -- but not wanting to pursue her physically -- Robert calls upon an ancient, forbidden power known as the "Nightsong." Using this power, Robert enters Andrea's dream while she sleeps, drawing her fragile mind ever closer to him.

"Nightsong: A New Vampire Musical" debuts in Woonsocket, Rhode Island this week, November 5th-8th, at the St. Ann Arts & Cultural Center.
Nightsong features original music and lyrics by 2009 Motif Music Award winner Kari Tieger and Kevin Campbell, and is written and directed by Jon Brennan.
Nightsong: A New Vampire Musical is based on Kari Tieger's 1996 EP release, "Trilogy of Nightsongs: A Romantic View of Vampires," and she has written a number of new songs specifically for this production. Kari and Kevin were in the "Soup" band together in 1991 and have worked on various musical projects for 15 years, so this is a natural collaboration. Kevin's contributions to the show are very atmospheric, especially the haunting and beautiful title theme, "Nightsong."
Tickets are $8 in advance, $12 at the door. To order, call Brown Paper Tickets at (800) 838-3006 or visit
