Usually held around Halloween, The 2009 New York City Horror Film Festival will take place November 18-22 at the world famous Tribeca Cinemas in Manhattan. A call for entries for the 2009 New York City Horror Film Festival has been underway and the "submissions" page of their website details how to submit projects. So polish up those features, shorts, and scripts because in 2009....the NYCHFF will take your horror, sci-fi, & thrillers and feed them to the beast that is NYC! If you miss out on this year's event, start storyboarding for next year - this is an annual event.

Established by MooDude Films CEO/Producer/Director Michael J. Hein in 2001, the NYCHFF is a week-long event that takes place at venues throughout New York City. The NYCHFF has grown to be a world-recognized event, with industry, filmmakers, and press attention from around the globe. The festival is competitive, screening approximately 50-60 films each year. In the past, the winners have been awarded prizes including the Dracula Tour to Transylvania vampire vacations. Joe Mauceri as the new Director of Programming for the NYCHFF. Joe's credentials for the job are stellar, from the creator and sitting editor of FearsMag.com, co-host of the radio program Night Shift, and his work in publicity with major motion picture studios, Joe is ready to help bring the festival to new heights.
