What do you get when you put all these celebrities in the same hotel: Elvira, Patrick Stewart, Zacherley, Linda Blair, Ann-Margret and about a hundred other special guests? You get the "Chiller Theatre Toy, Model and Film Expo," which started out as a monster con and has grown to be one of the most anticipated star-filled multi-genre events on the planet. The guest list boasts horror icons, film stars, TV celebrities, music notables, artists and others, some of whom have never appeared before.
The Halloween edition of the convention takes place this weekend, October 30-November 1 at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, NJ. Show hours are Friday from 6pm-11pm, Saturday from 11am-7pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm. On Friday night there will be a special showing of the new film, "House Of Wolf Man," and there will be a costume contest Saturday night at 8pm hosted by Dave Baumuller & Ted Bohus (sponsored by Horror Biz Magazine).
Cryptmaster Chiller Chucky of Horror Happenings will be at the event passing out flyers for next year's Dracula Tours and the future GHOSTours.
WPIX-TV in New York is resurrecting the "Chiller Theatre" program with a presentation of the 1964 classic "The Evil of Frankenstein" airing on the New York TV station at 8pm on Saturday, Oct. 31. It will be hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and will feature the original Chiller Theatre "The Six-Fingered Hand" and "Monster Montage" openings.
