You don't have to be a tourist to do fun things in NYC. Especially if you aren't going away on vacation this summer, you should look for staycation activities. A great one that both teenagers and parents are bound to enjoy is going on a tour of TV and movie locations. On Location Tours in NYC has many options.

There are currently two general tours:

1. NY TV & Movie sites: A bus tour to over 40 sites from 60 TV show and movies including Friends, Cosby and Devil Wears Prada.
2. Central Park Movie sites: A walking tour to over 40 locations, including When Harry Met Sally, Home Alone 2 and Ghostbusters.

There are also three tours based on specific television series:

1. Sex and the City hotspots
2. Tour Sopranos sites
3. Gossip Girl sites tour

If you are looking for a bargain, the Central Park tour is the cheapest because it is all on foot. However, just think of all the excercise you and your teens will get while learning all about the televison shows and movies that were filmed in Central Park.
