What better place for parents and teenagers to connect over their mutual love of rock music then the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? Unfortunately, until recently, that meant a long trip to Cleveland, Ohio. However, in December 2008, the Rock & Roll hall of Fame NYC Annex was opened in Soho. And on May 12th a feature exhibit, "John Lennon, the New York City years" was added to the museum.

The NYC Annex contains the following galleries:

• Hall of Fame - pays tribute to every artist inducted into the Hall of Fame
• The Power and the Glory - Watch never before seen footage of rock performances in an immersive theater.
• Roots & Influences - a web of high definition screens map the roots and influences of today's most popular musicians. Sennheiser headphones transmit a soundtrack as you walk through the gallery.
• Moments to Moments - 5 critical turning points on the timeline of Rock & Roll.
• New York Rocks - interactive map of Manhattan that highlights sites around the city significant to the history of Rock & Roll and personal items donated from NYC artists are displayed.
• John Lennon: The New York City Years - Created by Yoko Ono, it explores John Lennon’s passion for music, art, politics and film, with New York City as his backdrop. The Annex has added extended hours for this exhibit.

If your teens haven't already discovered classic rock, this could be the perfect way for you to introduce them to it. Teens will get to see the Rock & Roll that their parents grew up with. Enjoy the NYC Annex of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It now only requires a subway ride down to Soho.
