FutureWorks is a year-round program offered through the YMCA of Greater New York to help teens learn the skills needed to start their own business. The program is for teenagers between 13-18 and is offered at various YMCAs throughout New York City.
Teens in FutureWorks learn that owning their own business is a valid career option and are given the training to do so. All FutureWorks staff members are certified through the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s (NFTE) Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher Education Program. Students meet twice a week and are also given exposure to leadership development and career choices.
FutureWorks is made possible by OppenheimerFunds, the leading funder of the program. You can find more details on which YMCAs offer the FutureWorks program on entrepreneurship, and their contact information, at the YMCA website.
