DoSomething.org is so much more than a place for teens to find volunteer opportunities. The website in itself has so much to offer. DoSomething.org is an extrememly educational website.

On the main page of DoSomething there is a list of all the major causes today. You can click on each one of them for pages of information about them. When I clicked on Environment, I was taken to a page that broke down Environment into all of its different subgroups such as pollution, recycling, etc. The page also listed recent volunteer projects on the environment that teens worked on and forums on the topic.

Once your teen decides on a cause, (s)he can then choose where they want to work (so you can fill in NYC) and for how long, so if it just for the summer, or even a day or week, that is fine. Your teen can even come up with their own project and DoSomething.org will help them find funding.

Other things that I love about this website are the news box on the main page, the polls for teens to partake in and the celebrity involvement to help get teens excited. DoSomething.org is one of the best teen volunteer programs I have ever seen.
