Halloween can be a difficult time for parents of teens. They don't usually want to spend Halloween with their families anymore, but it is a scary holiday to have them roaming the streets on their own.
Here are some Halloween activities taking place in New York City that teens might enjoy:
1. 36th Annual New York's Village Halloween Parade - on October 31st, it begins at 7pm at Sixth Avenue, south of Spring street above Canal. The parade runs up Sixth Avenue and ends at 21st street. Anyone with a costume can join the parade. The Greenwich Village Halloween parade is the nation's largest, attended by over 2 million people.
2. Halloween 2009 at Blood Manor - Blood Manor is a Haunted House that is open to the public on various dates during October and November at 542 W. 27th St., Manhattan (not recommended for under 14). They are planning on holding a Halloween party for teens 14 and up, however there are no details as to date and time available yet.
3. Halloween Haunted Walk and Carnival - This Prospect Park, Brooklyn event runs on Halloween from noon to 3pm. Suitable for all ages, kids, tweens, teens and adults.
4. Central Park pre-Halloween activities - There are many events for families that tweens and younger teens might be willing to partake in:
