Whether you enjoy classical nymphs, smiling gnomes, plump cherubs or your favorite dog breed in your garden, decorating is another way to infuse outdoor spaces with our personality and interests and because, well, it’s just plain fun.

One of the places to find a wide variety of garden decorations and statuary is at Garden Accents in Gilroy. From Highway 101 you may have caught a brief glance and thought it was a place that just sold pottery as that is all that can be seen from the road. Take the Masten exit and it’s a quick right hand jog past a strawberry field.

On site it’s a sprawling area filled with delights. One is an area of themed gardens from French, Asian and Mediterranean with corresponding plants. There are many different styles of fountains and a vast array of glazed and terra cotta pottery. A gift store is teeming with all sorts of garden themed items from wall art to gloves and clocks, thermometers and hats.

Garden Accents also hosts classes with a variety of speakers, on topics that range from water-wise gardening to getting rid of every gardener’s dreaded enemy, the gopher.   If you’re driving in the South County area, take a detour to check out the dancing frogs.  The selection and variety of garden goodies will amaze you.
