Shopping for an inexpensive gift? Need pet supplies, but don't want to pay a lot? Just looking for something to do? Consider visiting "Pick of the Litter" in Burlingame. It is a thrift shop run by the Peninsula Humane Society. Here is a partial list of what they have to offer:
-Books
-Music
-Clothing
-Accessories
-Pet supplies
-Video games
-Greeting cards
The store is run entirely by volunteers and all the proceeds go directly to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, a non-profit organization. Most of the merchandise is in very good condition and the prices are super low. And there's usually a cat or two hanging out, available for adoption.
Next time you're up on the peninsula, or looking around for good deals, check out Pick of the Litter. I love stopping by there on my way up to or back from San Francisco. They are open Monday through Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 12-4. The third Tuesday of every month is Mobile Adoption Day and everything in the store is 50% off. Their location is 1127 Chula Vista in Burlingame.
