SideBar is a bar and restaurant located on the border between Union Square and the Flatiron District. It sits on the corner of of East 15th and Irving Place, attracting both NYU students and locals catching a drink after work.
Tonight, SideBar is offering one hour of FREE BEER to those who can edge their way in the door before the Yankee game. The Yanks are taking on the Los Angeles Angels tonight, with the first game of the American League Championship Series (ALCS). The winner of this match-up will go to the world series and face either the Los Angeles Dodgers or Philadelphia Phillies.
Besides the free beer from 7-8pm, there are also other great drink specials during the game. $5 gets you a "Bronx Bomber Shot" -- you take 3/4 glass of Bud Light and drop in a shot of amaretto with a splash of orange juice. It's fun, because it's interactive! There are also $12 Bud Light pitchers and $25 Bud Light buckets for the duration of the game.
So what are you waiting for? Go to SideBar tonight to root on your favorite men in pinstripes. I'd suggest getting there early, because space is always limited during baseball games. If you see Pete or Greta, tell them the author says "Let's Go YANKS!"
