A typical date at night involves dinner and a movie (or a show), but it doesn’t have to be cookie-cutter. Spice up your next date by going to a place that brings out the inner child in everyone – a candy store.

Economy Candy is in the Lower East Side, on Rivington between Ludlow and Essex. Even though the store is physically small, every piece of candy you’d ever want or dream of is piled in the tiny space. Economy Candy has floor to ceiling sweets that would make Willy Wonka proud. Browse the selection of jelly beans, or perhaps buy a bag of a color of M&M’s that aren’t available in regular stores. You can even spell your name in gummy letters!

Start your date off with a walk down memory lane at Economy Candy. Whatever your sweet tooth craves, you can find it here. Remember to get there a little early, as the store closes at 6pm Sunday through Friday, and 5pm on Saturdays. After you get your bag of candy, munch on it as you walk through the Lower East Side to continue your date. Remember, you can tell a lot about a person by what candy they like.

For more info: Economy Candy, 108 Rivington St, between Essex and Ludlow. Open Sun-Fri 9-6, Sat 10-5
