Are you looking for something to do with your mom for Mother’s Day? Brunches and other meals are popular Mother’s Day activities but why not extend your time with mom and turn the day into a daycation? See the list below for ideas of meals and activities around the Orlando metro area. Feel free to comment on any additional ideas or recommendations for our readers.
Tip: If you want to guarantee a breakfast or lunch with minimal wait, I strongly recommend you select a place that will accept a reservation. It may cost a little more than a Perkins or Denny’s but I am sure your mother will appreciate not having to stand around and wait for an hour or more.
Conroy/Mall at Millenia
Brunch: Brio at Mall at Millenia, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Extend your time: After you eat, take your mother shopping at the upscale Mall at Millenia to walk off some of that extra food. Buy her some lotion at Crabtree & Evelyn or treat her to a pedicure at Salon Cielo.
Downtown Orlando/Thornton Park
Brunch/Lunch: Hue in Thornton Park, reservations currently open from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Extend your time: After enjoying $2 mimosas and the Bloody Mary bar at Hue, walk (or drive) down to Lake Eola and stroll along the waterfront. Alternatively, treat mom (and yourself) to a spa service at nearby Eo Inn & Spa.
Sanford
Brunch or Dinner Cruise: Rivership Romance on the St. John’s River, 11 a.m. or 4 p.m.
Extend your time: The Mother’s Day package on this local river cruise has packaged a special meal with some quality mom time. Your mother will enjoy the complimentary flowers and you both will enjoy a peaceful sail and live music.
Winter Park
Brunch/Lunch/Dinner: Park Plaza Gardens on Park Avenue, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Extend your time: Take your mother to nearby Henry P. Leu Gardens before or after your meal. The plants and flowers are varied and beautiful. Plus, moms get in free on Mother’s Day!
