At the Minnesota State Fair you can find just about anything to eat on a stick. From pork chops to pickles, pronto pups to corn. You can also get spam dogs, chocolate covered bacon, mini donuts. The list goes on and on.
We all have to eat at the fair and having food on a stick certainly makes it more convenient to eat constantly while on the go. If you are one of those people who can't afford to eat all the delights at the fair, here is a list of some exhibits where you can find healthy treats.
Eco Experience has daily cooking demos. You can meet local food producers, sample food and get caprese salad on a stick or fresh watermelon.
On Tuesday, September 1st in Carousel Park you can see presentations from local chefs and how they use local fresh Minnesota grown foods in their restaurants.
Healthy State Fair Foods has a list of food choices along with the vendor name, how it's prepared, why it's good for you, and prices.
If you can't help yourself and must have those mini donuts, find someone to split them with. It is never a good idea to deny yourself treats, just make sure to eat in moderation and you will have a fabulous time at the fair.
