Hello to you all on this rainy afternoon. I hope that if you made it out to ArtWalk last night you had a great time and got home before the rain started!
I cannot promise better weather tonight but if you are looking for something new to do look no further than the Sunset Tours at the historic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse - 500 Captain Armour's Way, Jupiter. On the last Wednesday of every month, as the sun begins to go down, small groups are led up the spiral staircase to witness a spectacular overhead view of the Jupiter inlet below and the shifting colors of the evening sky above. Once the sky is dark the lighthouse comes to life sending out a beam that can be seen for more than twenty miles.
This is such a classic date idea and even if there is more rain the lighthouse will still conjure up images of old -school movie romance - and really, what is sexier than kissing in the rain? Families will also find the tour a budget friendly and fun option. Watch as your children's eyes light up as the Fresnel lens of the lighthouse (purchased from France in the eighteen fifties!) starts to turn. At high tide make sure you look for the manatees and herons that are likely to be seen.
At $15 a person it is an inexpensive date or a reasonably priced family night out but to risk sounding like a MasterCard commercial - the conversation and memories you create will be priceless. Make your reservations for tonight at 561-747-8380 ext. 110.
On a side note - Downtown Delray is going to be hopping tonight. Donna Jean and the Tricksters are playing at City Limits ($15 for tickets) and Delux is holding Dub'd Out - a FREE night of music mixing Reggae, Ska, Punk, Surf Rock and more all together into one harmonious blend.
Whatever you decide to do have fun, be safe and stay dry!
