Can you believe it is already December 1st? The past year has flown by and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Make the most of your free time - try new things, expand your mind, learn new skills, see friends and family and be sure to relax and take care of yourself too!
Wow - with so much to do you have to plan wisely. Let me be your guide this holiday season. Whether you need an event to entertain the whole family or a good happy hour after work you will find it here.
Don't miss a thing this month, starting with the best events in the county today, December 1, 2008:
I believe in growing old naturally - wrinkles and all, but from time-to-time I look at the beginnings of my fine-lines and wonder if I won't change my mind. Now we can all hopefully forget Botox, Collagen and all other plastic surgery. Learn "The Secrets of Radiant Healthy Aging" as part of the Delray Beach Public Library's Healthy Living Series. Dr. Laura Fenoglio will lead the presentation. 2 p.m. 1000 W. Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach.
This is one of the last weeks to visit the Freshness, Joy, Guiltlessness in Art Exhibition featuring paintings and prints by Dan Christensen from the Boca Raton Museum of Art's Permanent Collection. The Kravis Center - 701 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach - welcomes the Palm Beach Pops presenting their annual tribute to the music of Broadway. This year features Christine Andreas and David Burnham. Ticket cost depends on seating so call 1-800-KRAVIS-1 for information. 8 p.m.
It is getting down to the Finals of the GONG SHOW at DaDa so the talent is fierce and bizarre and the gong is still going loud and strong. Registration starts at 9:30 p.m. and there is no cover to get in. If you haven't been to DaDa, this is a good night to go and get acclimated. It is an artistic home turned bar/restaurant. The food and drinks are a little pricey but delicious and absolutely worth it. Don't be intimidated by the hipster crowd - all are welcome and the crowd, especially on Monday night, is there to be crazy and have some fun. 52 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach.
Don't forget to continue this month to donate food and toys to the local Palm Beach County drop off locations!
Finally, there is also a world-wide event going on tonight! The moon, although only a slim crescent this evening, will be bright enough and close enough to illuminate Venus and Jupiter. The planets will appear as two bright, silver stars next to the moon. Be sure to take a look!
